Central Hawkes Bay

About Us

Kowhai Flower - Phillip Moll

The Central Hawkes Bay branch encompasses the area between Otane and Dannevirke. We are one of the smaller Forest & Bird branches, with around 60 members.

We hold monthly branch meetings on the first Thursday of every month, where current environmental issues and projects are discussed. Often these meetings host guest speakers on conservation-related topics.

Meetings commence at 7.30pm in the staffroom of Waipukurau School on St. Marys Road. Branch meetings are open to all. If you would like more information, please contact , so if you’d like to come please send us an email.

Get Involved

Our branch organizes monthly meetings and activities for members and the public. These include tramps and day trips to view and help with other conservation projects in the region. All are welcome.

The Central Hawke’s Bay branch is responsible for maintaining Lindsay Bush, a small reserve at the end of Lindsay Road, outside of Waipukurau.

Our volunteers set and check pest traps, clear weeds and maintain tracks in the reserve.
